I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Cambodia, Phnom Penh Mission from July 2002 until August 2004. While on my mission I had many wonderful and strange experiences living in a culture far distant from our own. Many interesting foods, animals, people, places and activities made every day a new experience. The Cambodians are a very happy, friendly people, always willing to talk. Most would invite us into their homes even if they weren't interested in the Church. Many were however, and missionary work continues there at a rapid pace. Years of civil war have made the Cambodians humble and receptive to the gospel, making Cambodia one of the fastest-growing areas in the Church. |
