The following guidelines will be used in grading your class project.
Report
| Your Grade | Possible | Item | Description |
| 5 | Abstract | One paragraph overview of what you did | |
| 10 | Introduction | An overview of the area | |
| 10 | Discussion of related work | There should be some of this in any project. | |
| 15 | Discussion of project | What did you do, how did you do it? How did you find information and do the research? | |
| 15 | Results | Experimental results if this is a programming project, your conclusions if this was primarily a research project. | |
| 5 | Conclusion | Was this project successful? What was the most important thing you learned | |
| 5 | References | You should have at least 5 | |
| 15 | Organization | Does your paper flow well and does it make the point you want it to? | |
| 10 | English Grammar | You should have someone read it before you turn it in. | |
| 10 | Overall Quality | Don't let your dog chew on it before turning it in. No cover is necessary, just staple the sheets together in the upper left corner. | |

For a programming project, your report should be around 3-5 single spaced pages
long. A research only project should probably be closer to 8-10 single
spaced pages. These are only guidelines though. Don't write any more
than it takes to express your ideas. Mindless drivel does not contribute
to the grade you will get on the project, even though it may contribute to the
number of pages
Project Presentation
You can receive up to 5% extra credit for a project presentation in class. You will be given points according to the following scale.
| Your Grade | Possible | Item | Description |
| 10 | Quality of Presentation | You should have well thought out slides. | |
| 10 | Interest Level | You should talk about thinks that you learned or that were unexpected, not just a rehash of class material | |
| 5 | Verbal skills | You should talk clearly and have practiced enough to make a good presentation | |
| 5 | Introduction to Topic | Briefly describe the background for the project | |
| 5 | Results | What did you learn or discover through doing the project? | |
| 5 | Conclusion | Was this project successful? What was the most important thing you learned | |
